Mammals climb to the top?
Proliferation unabated it seems.
8 billion strong, how to stop?”

The images in this series are all based on lichens. Wonderful complex life forms that are a symbiotic partnership of two separate organisms, a fungus and an alga that provides food via photosynthesis.

This painting is based on an orange crustose lichen, a small section of which I have interpreted.

Sexual reproduction has been so successful that we humans need to think more about the future and our responsibilities.
