“Entwined still and getting old
Gravity and time take their toll;
Mind wants what the body won’t do,
Still and always there’s only you.”

This is another fairly literal expansion and coloring of the original doodle shown here. This is the other half of the young-old pair of small paintings. (See Spring-loaded)
When I was young I always wanted to be older. At around 50 that desire pretty much stopped. It took me awhile to understand and appreciate the things I had gained compared to the things I had lost.
All in all, looking back, young and old both have their advantages and disadvantages. I have enjoyed both and I am extremely glad to still be here investigating life.
